Ireland’s Dry Stone Wall Association will be holding a festival in County Donegal’s Glencolmcille on June 17th to 19th 2016. During the festival an installation will be unveiled showing a stone map of the islands as a drywall according to the British Stone Specialist Trade Publication.
Latest news: Veronafiere, the organizer of Marmomacc, is developing a new trade fair called „Building East Africa“. According to a press release, it will start in a „light“ version as a B2B-meeting to be held in Ethiopia’s capital in Addis Ababa on August 31 and September 01, 2016. On the first day, the focus will be on construction machinery, on the second day on materials. It shall complete MS Marmomacc + Samoter Africa and Projex Africa in Cairo, Egypt 10-13 December, 2016.
The Marble Hall of Potsdam’s New Palace is open to the public once more effective immediately. It contains magnificent stone inlay dating back to the reign of Frederic the Great of Prussia (German).

Red Dot Award: a prize in the category Product Design was awarded to Strattos Collection for its Engineered Stone Techlam produced by Levantina. The Jury especially mentioned the appearance of the engineered stone, noting that it convincingly emulates vintage concrete with cracks and veins as one might find in a defunct production hall. The slabs are 3mm thick and weigh 7.1 kg/m². They are available in sizes of 1 x 3 m (1, 2).

Video of the Month: Free running or Parcour is the name given to a path through the city in which hurdles must be surmounted not circumvented. A video shows young people jumping in a defunct gravel pit. Roofing: An eccentric participant recently climbed over the Ulm Cathedral Towers. He had spent the night in hiding up high and filmed his escapades the next morning as he jumped from gargoyle to gargoyle. Note this is the highest Cathedral tower in the world and measures some 160 m (1, 2).
