For the “Jupiter“ and “Venus“ lamps, the stone is super-thin and translucent
Radar Interior, the Italian-French design brand, sent the following press release about the new catalog:
„The company uses Carrara marble to create pure, sculptural shapes, where the material is always in the limelight.
Marble is used in a contemporary way in the “Solco“ line, which includes a wall lamp and a coffee table. In this case, the stone material is engraved with a CNC machine working on a hand-drawn design by Radar Interior‘s designers. The decorative pattern evokes a feeling of movement that imbues the surface with a dynamic look as if to express the encounter between a natural material and the human hand.
In the “Jupiter“ and “Venus“ ceiling or wall lamps, the unrepeatable beauty of the stone is backlit to enhance its veins. The discs that make up the diffuser of the new lamps have a 60 cm diameter and are so thin (from 0.7 to 1.00 cm) that the light shines through.
Francesca Bertini and Bastien Taillard founded radar Interior. The company has offices in Paris and Milan. Materials are the focus of all design objects handcrafted in Europe by expert craftsmen. In particular, glass, metal, brass, and marble – from the quarries of Carrara to the Parisian forging workshops, from Milan to the Haut-Marnaise forests, Radar Interior explores the territory in search of excellence.“
Beyond the items in the catalog, Radar Interior offers a customization service that allows individual pieces in limited series.
