Poznán’s industrial city will host a new type of natural stone trade fair next year: The current “Stone“ trade fair, until now held in November, will be held from February 03 – 06, 2026, concurrently with the “Budma Construction and Architecture“ trade fair. With this, and with the simultaneous events for construction machinery (“Intermasz“) and infrastructure (“Infratec“), the organizer, MTP Grupa, aims to capitalize on the fact that stone has applications in architecture and residential construction, as well as in the broad field of roads and transport.

From the perspective of the stone sector: The new trade fair will showcase stone slabs for façade cladding, tiles for walls and floors, and paving materials for paths and squares. The cemetery and gravestone area will also be featured, which is why the current “Stone“ exhibition will not be abandoned, but rather integrated into the overall event as a recognizable unit.

This is also intended to address the fact that many stone companies feel weak and uncomfortable when their stands are surrounded by representatives of competing materials with much greater marketing power.

As for the construction industry in Poland, a recovery could occur this year, according to the cautious estimate of the German Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI), a state institute promoting the involvement of German companies abroad and vice versa. Its market researchers noted that previously blocked EU subsidies in Poland were recently released, allowing infrastructure projects and major investments to begin.

For the housing market, they already noted an increase in building permits in 2024, but at the same time noted that there had been significant declines beforehand. However, an analysis from April 2025 states for the near future: “The housing market, in particular, is gaining momentum again.“

It continues: “According to the market research company Spectris, the value of the construction sector in Poland will grow by a total of 13.3 percent in 2025 and 2026.“

When it comes to building materials, environmental aspects are becoming increasingly important, according to the GTAI: For commercial real estate, clients attach great importance to certification of the energy consumption of the completed building. The most popular standards here include BREEAM, LEED, and Well. It can be assumed that EPD documents are expected for materials from abroad.

However, sustainability plays only a secondary role: “Price is still the main criterion.“

By the way: From Poznán, it is 270 km or 3.5 hours by car or train to Berlin. The surrounding area, with good connections to the Baltic Sea port of Gdansk, offers ideal conditions for a country representation with a showroom and panel warehouse for distribution throughout Western Europe.
