Two new natural stone trade fairs are to be launched in 2025: Stonegal in Vigo in Spain at the beginning of June and Vulcanica Stone in Catania in Sicily at the end of May. Both will focus on a specific type of stone (granite and lava stone, respectively).
We put the Stonegal first because it had already announced itself to us 14 days ago. The mail from Vulcanica Sone arrived yesterday.
Stonegal, June 3 – 5, 2025, Vigo, Spain: “Stonegal is not just an Expo and a Congress; it is an integral experience that celebrates the beauty and versatility of natural stone,” as said on the webpage. The show also aims to “be a launchpad for the innovations and trends shaping the future of the sector.”
The venue is the port city of Vigo in Galicia, home to the famous granites from the north of the Iberian Peninsula, not far from the pilgrimage site of Santiago de Compostela. It is expected that there will be 150 exhibitors from Europe, America and Asia. Artificial stones will not be on display, the webpage points out.
A Stone Night Gala is to take place. It promises “a gastronomic experience with a two Michelin stars chef cooking products from the region, all cooked on the hot stone”, as well as music and dancing from the region. A prize will also be awarded to people who have made an outstanding contribution to natural stone in the past year.
The event is organized by the Instituto Ferial de Vigo (IFEVI).
Vulcanica Stone, May 21 – 25, 2025: It aims to be “an innovative, cultural and scientific event,” according to the website.
”Exhibition, networking, round tables and conferences, optimizing business opportunities” will be held over four days. The focus will be on lava stone, but sedimentary and metamorphic rocks will also be included. Logistics and tools, art and design, and tourism in volcanic areas will be other topics. Magma Lab deals with material research on magmatic rock.
The organizer is Sicily Hub in cooperation with Bluechain. 1125 companies have been invited to be as exhibitors. The venue is the exhibition center in Catania, the capital of Sicily, with the active volcano Etna.
