Description of the stone: marble with alternating green and white surface areas and larger white knots. Please note: In Italian language, all the stones that are easy to work, are named “marble.“

Peculiarities of the stone: Due to its structure, the Cipollino Classico has the nickname “Onion Classic.“ The stone became popular in the 1920s and was very much used all over Italy, also in other European countries or abroad even in Australia for the 95 columns for the Parliament building in Canberra. In outside use, over long time, its color may become pale, and it may flake off.
