(June 2011) Stone+tec will take place form June 22nd to 25th in Nuremberg – and the timing is perfect: the European economy has regained confidence and Germans in particular are buying as never before.
European Union’s (EU) statisticians have calculated an increase in gross domestic product of 2.1% for QIV across the board for all 27 member States of the EU. For the entire year 2010 the increase was by 1.7% compared to the 12 months prior.
German economy was the proverbial steam engine as its gross domestic product and growth reached the 3% mark for 2010. Consumerism also seems to have jumped on the bandwagon: „In a European comparison, Germans are by far the biggest optimists when it comes to spending“, according to a press release. That is to say: instead of holding back and saving their money, Germans are now looking for ways to spend it.
So exhibitors and visitors of this year’s Stone+tec are looking toward excellent economic prospects. The trade fair is held bi-annually and is a meeting place for all those in the natural stone branch from production to engineering all the way to graveyard installations.
Part of the accompanying program at this year’s Stone+tec is the presentation of the „stone+more“ award for innovation.
Presentation of the German Natural Stone Award and the Peter-Parler-Prize have already made a name for the fair, honouring exceptional merit in architecture and stone masonry or restoration in natural stone.
The highly valued service „ask Stone+tec“ will, of course, be available again this year. Interested parties can search for exhibitors or products with the help of this special service.
The fair organizers have entered a joint venture with the Italian trade organization Confidustria Marmomacchine whose members will be exhibiting their know-how over a surface of 1,700 m² .
