There is a place in Venice where architecture becomes storytelling and stone transforms into emotion. It is The Venice Venice Hotel, a five-star establishment in the Cannaregio district, overlooking the Grand Canal, where every detail embraces the spirit of the Serenissima. It was opened in 2022 after a four-restoration of the Ca’ da Mosto, a 13th-century palace.

Designed by Alessandro and Francesca Gallo, the Hotel reinterprets Venetian hospitality with an experimental approach and artistic sensitivity – a project where design embraces memory, and material becomes language.

Stone provider was Marmo Arredo, an Italian company with over 40 years of expertise in working with natural stones and composite materials. For The Venice Venice Hotel, the company selected and shaped special stones to create spaces that convey tactile and visual sensations: from sculpted sinks in the room bathrooms to claddings and countertops, and the flooring of the common areas – “every surface becomes a landscape,” as said in a press release.

Two types of marble stand out: Cipollino Rosso, with its warm, intense hues, and Grigio Antracite, rich in depth and texture, paired with artificial Resin Marble, a blend of artisanal tradition and technological innovation.

In the heart of the ground-floor suites, Trachite takes on pure forms – cladding walls, steps, relaxation areas of the pool, sculpted coffee tables, and bench bases. In the common areas, its bush-hammered finish, interrupted by a slim smooth border, pays tribute to Venetian tradition – “a gesture that stends both for memory and modernity,“ poetically speaking.

Enhancing the scene, Pietra d’Istria becomes sculptural matter in the bar counter: a unique creation, carved from solid blocks with extreme care, where the lower twist and the upper dentil detail tell the story of the meeting between hand and thought, between technique and poetry.
