(July 2011) 26 new hotels are under construction in Chile, 16 of which are situated in the capital. The other 10 are in the south of the country according to the trade journal Estrategia Online citing the president of the hotel trade organization (Spanish).

Stone books complete with texts of 28 poets and can be viewed in Venice until November 27th. The project was realized under participation of the Campolonghi Group on the occasion of Italy’s 150th anniversary celebrations.

„The Stones of Nidaros“ is a Norwegian research project examining the Trondheim Cathedral quarries. Per Storemyr, scientist and initiator of the undertaking points out in his blog that cross-border stone trade and transportation has been taking place since the middle ages: firs records of imports to Norway date back to 1160 A.D. when black marble was imported from Belgium to finish grave stones and was recycled in construction of the Cathedral tower.

Massive steps made of 90 stone blocks with Mayan hieroglyphics were discovered in Mexico.

A statue in honour of Grace Kelly is in being planned by the Monegasque Royal House according to a Carrara region newsletter (Italian).
