(December 2012) Sicis Company turned 25 this year. The Ravenna-based company has made a name for itself with its timeless mosaics in modern style. This year’s collection saw the addition of SiciStone, combining a variety of stone types and glass in a rainbow of colors.
Sicis, short for „Sicis the Art Mosaic Factory“ is one of those companies which put a face to the tag „Made in Italy“. Distinguishing factors are the relation to tradition expressed here in the art of mosaics and the modern design. The glossy „Elle Decor“ states that „everything around the mosaics revolves around color“, citing CEO Maurizio Leo Placuzzi. The entire new collection follows this motto. Costly stone types shimmer in the entire chromatic gamut of nuances.
For the target group, luxury is a way of living according to another magazine and refers to Sicis’ customers, the rich, the famous, and the beautiful, Hollywood residents and members of the aristocracy. Extravagant design ideas like the bathtub in the shape of a high-heel, as presented in a video of the web page, never fail to draw the media’s attention.
