(July 2013) Confindustria Marmomacchine, the Italian association for stone producers, factories, traders and technology companies, has elected its new board during the General Assembly in June 2013 in Milan. Statistics released by the association’s study centre showed a volume of sales of 3.800 million (= 3,8 billion) € and exports of 2.6 Million € in 2012. All in all, the Italian companies producing raw stone, slabs, finished stone products or machinery and tools reached a trade surplus of 2.200 million €. For Confindustria Marmomacchine these data are a true sign of the admiration the brand Made in Italy has reached all over the world, as said in a press release.
In the first 3 months of 2013, the positive trend in the sector’s exports was going on. It reached an increase of +9,4% in value and a total of 1.700 million €. The exports of machinery had a decline (-4%), yet its sales still stand for 75% of the sector’s exports.
