(January 2014) Piedra, the biennial stone trade show in Madrid will again take place this year, this time integrated in the SCS Salón Internacional de Soluciones para la Construcción Sostenible (International Show for Sustainable Construction Solutions) on May 07-10, 2014. A parallel event will be Veteco (Salón Internacional de la Ventana y el Cerramiento Acristalado) a trade show for windows, curtain walls and glass.
Due to the crisis in the Spanish construction sector it had been in question if and how Piedra could go on in the future. During the last years, the once most important stone show on the Iberian peninsula had seen a dramatic decline of exhibitors and visitors.
Both SCS and Veteco will be part of La Semana Internacional de la Construcción y Rehabilitación Eficiente (SICRE, International Week of Efficient Building and Efurbishment), an initiative to promote ideas for future construction.
The Spanish Natural Stone Association F.D.P. announces on its webpage that, until February 7th, the organizers of SCS/Piedra offer free travel and accommodations for key clients.
