President of IMIB, Ali Kahyaoğlu, strives for submissions with more rapport to the market
Turkish natural stone trade association IMIB welcomed professional designers and students to its fourth design competition. But the organizer voiced harsh critique which he addressed at participants: IMIB’s President, Ali Kahyaoğlu, stated that he was far from satisfied with the submissions. „We need drafts and prototypes that are realizable and for which there is a market… Align your dreams with reality“, freely translated.
There were a number of different categories: Hotel Lobby and Mall Entrance, Landscape and Street Furniture, Turkish Bath and Bathroom, Floor and Wall Tiles, Sacred Spaces.
The awards were, as always, lavish: from Turkish Lira, TRY 20,000 (US-$ 6,590, € 5,830) to TRY 5,000 (US-$ 1,647, € 1,458), students were endowed with awards ranging from TRY 10,000 to TRY 2,500.
Below we show the award-winning submissions, first students’ ideas and then the design-professionals. Stone-Ideas.com is happy to establish contact to the award-winners for our readers. Write a mail introducing yourself (Mail).
