The Italian brand Kreoo, based in the Chiampo Valley on the southern edge of the Alps, has its designers constantly develop new ideas for furnishings and furniture made of natural stone and then manufactures them in their own workshops. This time, the French designer Christophe Pillet has come up with a very special idea for the “Blessed“ bathtub: It consists of two different types of stone, either Bianco Carrara or Bianco del Re on the inside and various types of marble, travertine or semi-precious stones on the outside.
It is surprising how thin the stones are worked here.
The free-standing “Mercy“ washbasin is downright conventional in comparison. Here the designer has worked shapes from the plant world into the stone. The connection to depictions from ancient Latin American cultures is intentional.
“Wish” is the name for two marble vases. They consist of geometric shapes that are precisely cut using water jet technology. “They are works of art, intended for indoor and outdoor spaces, living rooms, restaurants and retail,” says the press material.
Various pieces of furniture are worth mentioning, such as the “Sterling“ armchair. It is made entirely of marble – if you look at it up close, you won’t believe how thin the material is. Various types of finishes are possible. The seat is designed for both indoor and outdoor use.
For “Queen,“ the tabletop (160 cm in diameter) can be ordered entirely in Calacatta Viola marble or with a leather insert. The base, in Calacatta Viola marble, is formed by three trapezoidal-shaped sections with chamfered corners; even their edges are radiused and soft to enhance the veins of the natural stone, while the matt finish creates an almost velvety effect on the surface.
