The call for entries for the 22nd German Natural Stone Award has been started. Submissions can be made by architects, interior designers, and landscape architects from Germany and abroad, as well as by students. According to the website, their projects should “meet high standards in terms of aesthetics and quality of life, as well as durability and sustainability in a special way.”

The prize is organized by the German Natural Stone Association (DNV) and the German Archtects‘ association (BDA).

Entries are accepted in four categories: public buildings/commercial buildings, residential buildings, building interiors, and open space design/landscape architecture. They must have been completed in Europe after January 01, 2020, with the participation of German specialist companies. The award language is German.

In the fifth category, “Young Student Award,” a special prize will be awarded to students whose buildings demonstrate significant use of natural stone.

The total prize money amounts to €15,000. The winners in three categories will each receive €2,500; the winner in the fourth category will be the overall winner and receive €5,000. The student prize is €2,500.

The processing fee for architects or firms is €175 (including 19% VAT). If two or more projects are submitted, the fee is reduced to €125 (including 19% VAT) per project. There is no fee for the students.

Submissions are open until January 31, 2026.

The award ceremony will take place on June 17, 2026, as part of the Stone+tec trade fair (June 17–20, 2026) in Nuremberg.
